Young driver road safety.
Reimagined.
In less than one hour, GoDrive offers new drivers and passengers the information, advice and practical tips they need to stay safe on the roads. Spread throughout the film are four interactive tasks, which help break up the session and get the group working together. Here’s a short clip!

Evaluated for impact.
The GoDrive intervention, which aims to improve road safety knowledge, attitudes, and intentions among students, was evaluated using a controlled pre-post study with intervention and control groups. The GoDrive intervention, which combines a 50-minute film and four facilitated activities, received positive feedback from students and showed statistically significant benefits in several areas.
Notably, it improved student intentions for driving practice, attitudes towards driving while fatigued, and the likelihood of passengers speaking out. It also enhanced intentions for hazard perception practice and improved risk perceptions related to driving with multiple peer-aged passengers. It was encouraging to see that the safety benefits delivered were in the areas needing the most improvement.

Presenter led group activities.
Two significant issues with young driver safety are perceived social norms and peer pressure. For example, showing off to passengers by speeding or, conversely, feeling unable and unwilling to speak about dangerous driving when travelling as a passenger.
More often than not, young people all want the same thing - to enjoy the new freedom of driving and get where they are going safely. Group activities are a great way to set the tone and overcome misconceptions about risk-taking actions like speeding or using a phone while driving.
Each of the four group tasks are led by the presenter on film and feature a countdown timer, allowing the facilitator to oversee the tasks, helping groups stay on topic.
